I came to care from a completely different world. I trained in law, and if you had told me 20 years ago that I would end up running a care company, I would not have believed you. But my mum worked in care her whole life, and through her I saw first-hand how poor the standard was for the people on the receiving end. It frustrated both of us. In 2008, I suggested we do something about it, and that is how this all started.
What I bring is 17 years of running a care company, making sure the people we look after get the standard of care my mum always believed they deserved. I built Quarry Homecare on her principles: treat every person like they are your own family, turn up when you say you will, and never cut corners.
I am a grandmother. I know what it feels like to worry about someone you love. When families trust us with their mum or their dad, I take that personally. I am the person you will speak to when you first call. I do the care consultations. And if anything goes wrong, I am the person who sorts it out. My number is 0151 800 2255 and I always pick up.
Liv has been in care since she was 19 years old. She started as a carer and worked alongside Jackie at a previous company before joining Quarry Homecare when it opened in 2022. She has done every part of the job, from hands-on care work to coordinating the day-to-day schedules, which means she understands what good care looks like from every angle.
As our Care Coordinator, Liv is the person who makes sure the right carer is in the right place at the right time. She knows every client and every member of the team personally. If you call the office and Jackie is out on a visit, Liv is the person you will speak to, and she will know exactly who you are and what is going on.
Liv brings energy and a fresh perspective to everything she does. She has grown up in this industry and cares deeply about getting it right. Families and staff trust her because she is straight-talking, organised, and always on top of things.
Every carer at Quarry Homecare goes through a thorough recruitment process including enhanced DBS checks, face-to-face interviews, and reference checks. Before they visit a client on their own, they complete a comprehensive induction covering medication, safeguarding, infection control, moving and handling, and more.But qualifications are only part of it.
